AI Search (GEO)

Get your pharma brand cited by ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity

A growing share of B2B pharma research now begins with a question typed into an AI assistant, not a search box. Those systems do not rank ten links — they compose one answer and cite a handful of sources. If your company is not among them, there is no position two to settle for.

How AI answer engines choose who to cite

Large language models answering a live query retrieve documents, extract facts and assemble a response with attribution. Three properties make a page retrievable and quotable: unambiguous entity identity, self-contained factual statements, and corroboration across independent sources.

Most pharma sites fail all three. The company is described differently on every page, the useful facts are locked inside marketing paragraphs or images, and nothing outside the site confirms any of it.

What we actually do

Entity grounding

One canonical description of your company, reconciled across your site, schema graph, Wikidata, directories and industry listings.

Extractable fact blocks

Specifications, certifications, capacities and MOQs written as standalone statements a model can lift verbatim.

Prompt-set monitoring

A tracked set of buyer prompts, run monthly across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and AI Overviews, logging who gets cited.

Machine-readable structure

Schema.org depth, clean semantic HTML, llms.txt, and crawler access policy for AI user agents.

Third-party corroboration

Presence in the industry directories, associations and publications that retrieval systems weight heavily.

Answer-shaped content

Pages structured as question → direct answer → supporting evidence, which is the shape retrieval favours.

GEO does not replace SEO — it compounds with it

The retrieval layer behind most AI answers still leans on conventional search infrastructure. Strong classic SEO remains the precondition; GEO is the additional structuring that decides whether you are the source quoted rather than one of ten blue links nobody clicked.

We run both against one keyword and prompt map, so a single piece of content is engineered to rank and to be citable. Paying two agencies to do these separately is paying twice for overlapping work.

What we measure

  • Citation share: how often you appear as a source across the tracked prompt set
  • Answer accuracy: whether AI systems describe your company, certifications and range correctly
  • Entity consistency: agreement between your site, schema graph and third-party sources
  • Referral traffic from AI assistants, isolated in analytics
  • Competitor citation share, tracked alongside your own

Ask a question

What is generative engine optimization (GEO)?

GEO is the practice of making a brand retrievable and citable by AI answer engines such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. It combines entity grounding, structured machine-readable facts, answer-shaped content and third-party corroboration so that generative systems quote your site as a source.

Is GEO different from SEO?

It overlaps but is not the same. SEO optimises for ranked link positions; GEO optimises for inclusion in a single composed answer with citations. Classic SEO strength is largely a precondition for GEO, which is why we run them against one shared content map rather than as separate programmes.

How do you measure GEO results?

We maintain a fixed set of buyer prompts and run them monthly across the major AI assistants, logging whether you are cited, how you are described, and which competitors appear. That produces a citation-share trend line plus an accuracy check on how AI systems characterise your company.

Does GEO matter for a B2B pharma company?

Increasingly, yes. Franchise seekers, procurement teams and export buyers use AI assistants for shortlisting — "which pharma companies offer derma range PCD franchise in south India" is exactly the kind of question these tools now answer. Being absent from that answer removes you from the shortlist before any website is visited.

How long does GEO take?

Entity and structure work often shows up in AI answers within six to ten weeks, because retrieval indexes refresh faster than ranking systems settle. Corroboration across third-party sources takes longer — plan on a two-quarter horizon for a durable citation position.
